No.. not at all! Gold Edition even less so! .. or well you get far cry 3 with that one. But I call all the DLC's bad! And the NG+ that I'm slowly grinding now, (not on the new difficulty, as the game have to many flaws for it to be worth it, and too little reward,) just remind me why I hated the story progression, but like the game world in itself.
I don't know if it's exactly the same, but the only real differences in Far Cry 3 were: Enemies dealt more damage. Your weapon damage drop off was shorter (so damage was reduced much closer to you then in the lower difficulty levels, but this was mostly in the vicinity of about a 10% difference) Enemies spotted you faster.

Visually it's more dense, with more trees and foliage and more detailed terrain. Visually all of them are impressive, but 5 is downgraded in many effects , you should watch a side by side video. Land and water vehicles no , air yes even if the balancing and controls are a joke. There are more guns in 3 and 4 then in 5.
